Charitable life at St. Mary's
"For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat;
I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink;
I was a stranger, and you invited Me in."
Everyone at St. Mary's takes the responsibility to look after those in need very seriously, and shows our commitment by fundraising for various charities throughout the school year.
Harvest festival
Each year, we support a local charity that is collecting food which is then distributed to families in need. For the last three years, St. Mary's has donated an increasing amount of food items to "Breaking Bread" which supports families in Wednesbury.
Express & Star Christmas
"Feed a Family" Appeal
In December 2018, we supported the "Feed a Family" Appeal by collecting foodstuffs, toiletries and small gifts which the Express & Star newspaper then donated to families in need.
Minnie Vinnies
We are proud to be a school that is signed up to be part of the Minnie Vinnies fundraising group.
Children now get together to discuss what issues they are concerned about and how they want to help the situation get better.
On Friday 21st June, the children will be holding a cake sale across the school to raise monies for the Acorns Children's Hospice which may close if it does not secure sufficient funding very soon.
